AsianOil: Zarubezhneft eyes divestment off Indonesia
Russian state oil firm Zarubezhneft intends to divest its interest in the Indonesian Tuna gas project after its UK partner Harbour Energy said Western sanctions were complicating their joint activities, Reuters reported on July 18.
Zarubezhneft bought its 50% interest in the Tuna production-sharing contract (PSA) in the South China Sea in June 2021, in a deal with Premier Oil, which later merged with Harbour Energy.
“ZN (Zarubezhneft) Russia will farm out, it is being processed,” Reuters cited a senior official at Indonesia’s upstream regulator SKK Migas as saying at a press conference. “Of course Harbour will meet a new partner, but we do not know yet who that will be.”
