ENERGO: DTEK Kyiv Grids to undertake large repair works under $750mn programme

DTEK Kyiv Grids will undergo extensive repair works in preparation for the coming heating season, Interfax Ukraine reported on April 4.

The private energy company, part of DTEK holding, plans to conduct a full audit of its equipment following relentless Russian attacks on its infrastructure. Overall, repair works and upgrades are expected for 832 power facilities, which includes 12 high-voltage substations, and 100 km of power lines, according to Denys Bondar, CEO of the company.

“We must repair the destroyed equipment and create an emergency reserve, which will allow us to successfully go through the next winter, probably no less difficult than the current one. New shelling is possible, new restrictions due to wear and tear of networks that have arisen during this winter period," Bondar told a press conference in Kyiv.

Restoration works will be funded via a $750mn investment programme approved in December. Moreover, international partners have provided DTEK with humanitarian assistance, including cable products and switches.
