Energo: Ukraine plans record electricity imports amid power outages
Ukraine imported a record volume of electricity on March 26, aiming to bring in 18,649 MWh since the start of the year, according to a statement from Ukrenergo, the country's national energy company.
"Over the course of the day, exports were made to Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova totalling 18,649 MWh, with peak capacity reaching up to 1,537 MW in certain hours. No exports are planned," the statement read.
Despite efforts to bolster imports, parts of the country are grappling with power outages, exacerbated by both weather conditions and ongoing combat operations.
The statement confirmed that 69 settlements in Odesa Oblast are without electricity, while 405 settlements nationwide are experiencing blackouts, partly due to the impact of combat operations.
