FSUOGM: Russian gas output up 8% in January-April
Newsbase 3 June 2024
Russian natural gas production grew by 7.8% in the first four months of this year to 253.3bn cubic metres, the Moscow-based Kommersant business daily reported on May 27.
Attributing this information to sources familiar with the Russian energy ministry, Kommersant said growth was supported by increased domestic consumption and higher exports to China. Russia’s largest gas producer Gazprom expanded output by 10.8% to 167 bcm, while there was less growth at Novatek and Rosneft.
National production in April came to 56.4 bcm, up 2.6% year on year.
