AfrOil: Kinetiko Energy provides update on gas exploration drilling in South Africa

Australian explorer Kinetiko Energy has provided a market update on its onshore gas exploration and production development activities in South Africa, Proactive Investors reports.

The ASX-listed company is working to develop an energy transition solution for South Africa focused on commercialising advanced shallow conventional gas projects following last year’s gas discovery near Secunda in Mpumalanga Province.

“The continued exploration success from core hole 270-12C amplifies the company’s assumption that massive gas-laden fairways exist across all of the company’s exploration rights,” Kinetiko said in a press statement on July 1.

According to the statement, core hole 270-12C, spudded on April 13, has been completed successfully with strong gassy geology intersected. The hole was drilled in some of the company’s southernmost geology and is around 30 kilometres from the recent successful core well 270-08C.
