AfrOil: SDX Energy finishes drilling Ksiri-21 well in Morocco’s Gharb basin

London-listed SDX Energy has finished drilling the Ksiri-21 well in Sebou Central in Morocco’s Gharb basin.

According to a press release dated October 31, the MENA-focused company spudded the well in early September of this year. The well, which is now 1,955 metres in depth, yielded approximately 113,300 cubic metres per day of gas during the test period.

SDX is working in partnership with Morocco’s state-owned National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM) to explore and develop Sebou Central. Gas from SDX’s wells is being sold to multiple off-takers in the Kenitra industrial area.

Ksiri-21 will now be added to 20 production wells that SDX has drilled in the same region. The company aims to reach a well-defined prospect within the main Hoot formation, which is the main producing sand in the area.
