AsiaElec: India launches 10th round of coal mine auctions – 67 mines on offer

India's Ministry of Coal recently hosted a pre-bid meeting for the 10th round of commercial coal mine auctions, led by Secretary M Nagaraju. The auction, initiated on June 21, 2024, features 67 coal mines available for bidding, according to a press release by India’s Press Information Bureau. When allocated, the mines will reportedly operate on a revenue-sharing basis, a model designed to enhance transparency and investor confidence. Over 100 industry representatives participated virtually, indicating strong interest in the auction.
