AsiaElec: Indian power generation sees 9% yearly surge in September
India's power generation witnessed a substantial uptick of 8.75% year on year in the month of September, as reported by data sourced from the National Power Portal. However, on a month-to-month basis, a 5% decline was also observed.
This surge in power production comes on the heels of a 4.7% y/y increase in the first half of the current financial year, as per available data.
Breaking down the sources of power generation, thermal power remained the dominant contributor as was expected with 108,697.62 GWh of output, followed by hydropower at 16,359.80 GWh and then nuclear power, which contributed 4,504.79 GWh to the nation's power grid.
