EFG Finance signs Egypt’s first specialised EV charging leasing deal

EFG Finance, a parent of EFG Holding (EGX:HRHD) has signed Egypt’s first specialised financial leasing agreement for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with Infinity, a renewable energy company and provider of EV charging solutions, Economy Plus reported on April 27.

As per the deal terms, EFG Finance will provide structured financing solutions to support the expansion of Infinity’s EV charging network across Egypt. The deal introduces a financing model that enables charge point operators to accelerate the rollout of EV charging stations through innovative funding solutions, while supporting Egypt’s transition towards environmentally friendly mobility.

The agreement aims to address key barriers to the wider adoption of EV charging technology by reducing upfront capital requirements and enabling the deployment of charging infrastructure nationwide more quickly and efficiently. Infinity operates Egypt’s widest and fastest-growing EV charging network. The partnership is expected to encourage more consumers to adopt electric mobility by expanding charging coverage in key commercial and residential real estate projects.

Infinity co-founder and CEO Nayer Fouad said the agreement marks an important step in accelerating Egypt’s transition to electric mobility, adding that the partnership with EFG Finance would enable Infinity to help charge point operators expand their networks while maintaining high technical and operational standards, supported by greater financial flexibility. Fouad said that the company’s mission is to build a strong foundation for Egypt’s EV charging ecosystem.

EFG Finance CEO Talal Al-Ayyat said the cooperation will enhance the company’s ability to provide tailored financing solutions that meet customer needs and support business growth. He said the company was also contributing to environmental protection and the development of a more sustainable, future-ready economy by backing the expansion of EV infrastructure.
