ENERGO: Joint venture to develop 1 GW of onshore wind in Poland

Renewable Power Capital (RPC) and Tundra Advisory have announced a joint venture to develop up to 1 GW of onshore wind in Poland.

This is RPC’s entry into the onshore wind market in Poland. The partners have already identified more than 500 MW of potential sites. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Tundra has been developing renewables in Poland for more than 15 years. The company is owned by Taiga Mistral, a leading sustainability focused investment management firm headquartered in Madrid.

The deal is RPC’s first in Eastern or Central Europe. Its wind portfolio is in Finland and Sweden, while it has a 3-GW solar pipeline in Spain, and a 1-GW battery storage venture in the UK.

Poland has the potential to be one of Europe’s fastest-growing onshore wind markets. The Polish government currently anticipates around 25 GW of renewable electricity generation capacity by 2030, double 2020 levels.
