ENERGO: PPC purchases Enel’s 5.4-GW green pipeline in Romania in $1.33bn deal

Public Power Corporation (PPC), a Greek utility, will acquire Italian group Enel's Romanian assets as part of a €1.26bn ($1.33bn) deal.

The green energy project portfolio has a planned capacity of 5.4 GW. This pipeline is ten times larger than Enel's existing renewable energy projects in Romania. Enel currently has 535 MW of installed capacity in the Balkan country.

PPC revealed these details in a presentation to its investors, reported SeeNews.

The green energy portfolio includes seven wind farms and 11 solar projects with a total capacity of 2.3 GW and 3.1 GW respectively.

In addition to Enel's portfolio, PPC will also take over Enel's distribution and energy supply portfolio. This acquisition will increase PPC's renewable operating capacity from 3.5 GW to 4 GW immediately and its own portfolio to about 15 GW, up from the previously planned 10 GW.
