ENERGO: Turkey PV tender to allocate 1.5 GW of solar capacity via 76 mini procurements

Turkey is to hold a tender to allocate 1.5 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity via 76 mini-procurements, the energy and natural resources ministry has announced.

The tender will form the fifth round of the country’s Renewable Energy Resources Zone (YEKA) scheme. It relates to projects in 23 grid regions. The targeted individual project capacities are 10 MW, 20 MW and 30 MW.

The bids' deadline will be January 12, 2022.

The ministry also stated that the tender will be capped at Turkish lira (TRY) 0.40 ($0.045/€0.039) per kWh.

Turkey’s fourth YEKA round calling for solar capacity, with an allocation target of 1 GW, was made in July. In the third edition of the YEKA solar tenders, concluded in May, 1 GW of capacity was awarded. Prices reached as low as TRY0.182/kWh.

Turkey is targeting 65% of its energy demand to be met from domestic renewable energy sources by 2023. It aims for 15 GW of installed solar PV capacity by 2027.
