EurOil: Centrica signs 15-year LNG supply deal with Delfin Midstream

Centrica plc, the parent company of British Gas, has agreed to a 15-year LNG supply deal with US-based LNG export project developer Delfin-Midstream, Reuters reported on July 11.

Under the terms of the deal Delfin will supply Centrica with 1mn tonnes per year (tpy) of LNG from its Deepwater Port off the coast of Louisiana. The deal has a market value of $8bn.

The agreement is pending Delfin’s successful final investment decision (FID) on the port project, which is located about 40 nautical miles (74.1 km) off the coast of Cameron Parish in Louisiana.

Centrica predicts it will receive delivery of around 14 cargoes a year of the super-chilled fuel. The first delivery is expected to occur in 2027.
