EurOil: European gas prices climb on Middle East tensions
Newsbase 2 August 2024
European natural gas prices climbed at the start of this week, amid heightened Middle Eastern tensions following a rocket strike in the Golan Heights and reduced wind speeds that led to higher gas-for-power demand.
The front-month contract at the Netherlands’ TTF hub rose to €33.87 per MWh ($390 per 1,000 cubic metres) on July 30, up from €32.48 on the previous trading day, and €31.78 on July 25.
