FSUOGM: Arctic LNG 2 to ship first cargo before end of January

Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 project will ship its first tanker to Asia before the end of January, industry sources told Reuters on January 16.

Initial volumes are predicted to be small for the beleaguered project located on the Gydan Peninsula on the northern Siberia coast, which was hit by US sanctions in November.

The project declared force majeure on LNG supplies in December notifying clients that had contracted purchases of cargoes, such as China’s Shenergy Group and Zheijang Energy as well as Spain’s Repsol that it would not be able to make future deliveries.
