FSUOGM: Moldova to deliver US LNG to consumers for first time

Moldova’s domestic gas supplier Energocom has said it will deliver test volumes of US LNG imported via a Greek regasification terminal on April 1-2 for the first time, as the country looks to break its reliance on Russian pipeline imports.

In a statement, Energocom said two cargoes totalling 2.6mn cubic metres of natural gas, brought ashore at the newly-commissioned Alexandroupolis floating LNG terminal in Greece, had been bought from Greek gas supplier DEPA Commercial. It described the cargoes’ price as competitive.

“If we agree on a formula for the continuation of this collaboration, we will notify citizens in the near future,” Energocom’s interim director, Victor Binzari, commented.
