GLNG: Golar’s FLNG vessel sets sail for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project site

Marine infrastructure company Golar LNG’s converted floating LNG producer, Gimi, set sail from Singapore on November 18 for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim FLNG project offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

The journey from Seatrium’s shipyard in Singapore is projected to take about 60 days with the voyage including refueling stops in Mauritius and Namibia. The vessel is being supported by an escort tug but is moving under its own propulsion.

Once the vessel arrives at the project site, Gimi will be moored and connected to the hub. This will mark a key milestone for BP’s project, indicating the commencement of contractual cash flows as part of its 20-year lease and operate agreement signed between the two companies in 2019.
