GLNG: Tellurian CEO steps down as it begins exploring potential sale

Embattled Houston-based LNG developer Tellurian revealed on March 18 that the company’s CEO Octavio Simoes has left his position as the company races to keep its Driftwood LNG export plant afloat.

Simoes handed in his resignation on March 15 and will now hold an advisory position reporting to Tellurian’s president, before retiring in June. Earlier in March the company announced it would not be extending Simoes’ contract beyond its employment term ending on June 5.

Meanwhile, Driftwood Assets’ executive vice president Samik Mukherjee was announced as president of Tellurian Investments.

The role will allow Mukherjee to oversee development of all of Tellurian’s assets ranging from upstream to Driftwood LNG and pipeline.
