GLNG: Woodfibre LNG moves ahead with construction of modules

Woodfibre LNG, a unit of Singapore-based Pacific Energy, has announced that it has given approval to a Chinese fabrication plant to commence building the 19 modules that will comprise the CAD6.8bn ($5.1bn) LNG facility to be located south-west of Squamish, British Columbia in western Canada, Construction Connect Canada reported on August 13.

The announcement comes in tandem with utility FortisBC revealing that construction for the Eagle Mountain-Woodfibre Gas Pipeline will commence August 28, which will add 50 km of new gas pipeline between Coquitlam and Squamish.

Construction crews are then expected to begin preparing the site in Squamish in September for installation of the plant.
