Kyrgyz capital resumes negotiations with ADB on purchasing 120 electric buses

The mayor’s office for the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek is negotiating the supply of 120 electric buses via support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the press service of office has told Kabar news agency.

Earlier reports that cited the Ministry of Economy and Finance claimed that the mayor's office had abandoned plans to receive the 120 electric buses via the ADB.

Negotiations with the ADB have resumed following the appointment of a new deputy mayor, Ruslan Akylbekov, the mayor's office said.

Reports in early 2020 said Bishkek was planning to purchase 350 electric buses using grants and loans from ADB worth $50mn.
