LatAmOil: APA reports on size of Krabdagu-1 well offshore Suriname

APA Corp. (US) revealed on June 21 that Krabdagu-1, an exploration well drilled at Block 58 offshore Suriname, appeared to contain at least 180mn barrels of oil in place (OIP).

In a statement, APA said flow test data collected from the well indicated that Krabdagu-1 held crude oil in the Upper Campanian and Lower Campanian horizons. In the Upper Campanian horizon, the well encountered 32 metres of net pay in a high-quality reservoir holding more than 100mn barrels of oil with a specific gravity of around 35 degrees API. Meanwhile, the well encountered 32 metres of net pay in a modest-quality reservoir containing more than 80mn barrels of oil with a specific gravity of around 37 degrees API.

The well also encountered oil in a shallower section of the Upper Campanian horizon. It described this interval as high-quality but explained that it was not in a location well suited for flow testing.
