National Energy Corp. of Trinidad and Tobago will attend conferences to promote energy services

State-owned National Energy Corp. of Trinidad and Tobago (National Energy) has said that it will participate in at least three major oil and gas summits next year in an effort to help the country’s energy services sector expand. Among the conferences on National Energy’s agenda are the 2023 Guyana Energy Conference & Expo in Georgetown, the 2023 Suriname Oil and Gas Summit in Paramaribo and the 2023 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

National Energy is hoping that the growth of the country’s energy sector will help strengthen ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), the Ministry of Trade and Industries (MTI), the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago and the T&T Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI).

The company made its announcement after the government of Trinidad and Tobago named it as the lead agency in the export promotion of the Caribbean nation’s energy services. It also revealed in a press release that it would be working closely alongside MEEI and other key stakeholders to promote the export of Trinidad and Tobago’s energy services.

“National Energy has long been the state agency responsible for the development and promotion of energy-based industries in T&T,” Minister of Energy Stuart Young commented. “With their current focus on regional energy industry development and low-carbon future industrial development, I have full confidence that National Energy has the appropriate capacity for developing and implementing strategies towards increasing the export of energy services regionally and internationally. The delivery of this strategy is also part of the Government’s Roadmap for Recovery Programme and will support our efforts to diversify the economy.”

Once the company has participated in the numerous summits it plans to attend, it will perform a review of its 2023 programme while also analysing changes in market conditions so it can advise on what markets to target going forward.
