REM: Biden’s wind support moves forward

The Biden administration will auction leases for offshore wind development off New York and New Jersey. The sale will be the administration’s first, and the ninth overall.

The area, which has shallow waters, could accommodate more than 7 GW of offshore wind energy, powering more than 2.6mn homes and supporting thousands of new jobs, said the US Department of the Interior (DoI).
