AsiaElec: Green India struggles in September, but solar looks to bounce back

Recent data made public by India’s Central Electrical Authority (CEA) points to last month being the worst performing September since 2018, with just 268.77 MW of renewables added to the grid.

A year ago in the same month the nation added over 2 GW of renewables.

From the CEA data, it was revealed that the bulk of the new energy links were, as expected, made up of solar facilities, 170.44 MW of the total compared with 94.95 MW of wind capacity.

Whilst no additional capacity was added in the form of hydropower or biomass projects, around 3 MW of the emerging waste-to-energy capacity was connected.
