AsiaElec: India determined to lead from the front on green hydrogen

When India announced its $2.3bn initiative to help push green hydrogen in early January, hopes were high that the nation had turned a corner.

Last year was all doom and gloom as report after report seemed to indicate India had left it too late to effectively meets its much publicised goal of net-zero by 2070.

But by backing green hydrogen development early on, and putting itself on a course to at least compete with economic heavyweights in the region, New Delhi was showing a willingness to move away from the old renewables stalwarts of solar and wind.

It did so with a bang.
