AsiaElec: India makes move to first localise, then expand hydrogen networks nationwide

India is looking to increase its influence in the wider-Asia hydrogen market.

In news from New Delhi this week, the north-western state of Gujarat, the home of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has initiated a so-called ‘Hydrogen Valley Project’ in a bid to help boost local hydrogen use and infrastructure.

A first meeting for those invited to be a part of the project was held in the city of Ahmedabad in late April, organised by local firm iCreate.

A self-titled ‘start-up incubator’ working alongside the nation’s national government, the Department of Science and Technology, and the highly influential Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, iCreate oversaw discussions on a range of approaches considered to increase use of hydrogen in Indian society. across India.”
