Editorial 14 January 2024
Nigeria’s National Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (NNPCL) is set to supply four crude oil cargoes to the country’s $20mn Dangote refinery. The plant is expected to begin operations soon following years of construction delays, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the matter who told Reuters.
The sources stated test runs at the refinery could begin in the week following January 8, with six initial crude cargoes having already been received.
Dangote also received 1mn barrels of Nigeria’s Agbami crude on January 8, increasing total volumes supplied since December 6 to 6mn barrels. The NNPCL had supplied four of the cargoes, according to two of the sources.
