DMEA: Nigeria to acquire 7,700 CNG-powered vehicles

Nigeria’s federal government, along with Lagos and Niger states, has introduced plans to procure 7,700 compressed natural gas (CNG) powered buses to minimise the impacts of fuel subsidy removal.

About 5,500 of the vehicles will be procured by the federal government, with the remaining 2,200 set to be purchased by Lagos and Niger in a bid to reduce transportation costs in their respective regions.
