DMEA: PlasChem receives Sadara feedstock

Saudi Arabia’s Sadara Chemical Co. announced that its dedicated pipeline network has begun supplying feedstock to tenants in the adjacent PlasChem Park in Jubail Industrial City II.

The EO/PO pipeline system was formally launched this week following its completion in September 2021. The lines are 6.8 km and 6.2 km in length respectively, terminating at PlasChem Park’s Oxide Distribution Facility.

The feedstock will be used alongside other materials by tenants of the 12-square km PlasChem Park to produce diversified speciality products for use throughout the Saudi downstream sector, including in petrochemicals, construction materials, detergents, home and personal care products, water treatment chemicals and coating and paint applications.

Ahead of the launch, Sadara carried out trials to supply feedstock to Halliburton’s Chemical Reaction Plant in PlasChem Park, which was opened in late Q1, located 2 km from the central Sadara facility.

Sadara CEO Faisal M. AlFaqeer commented: “This is a major step in the development of PlasChem Park, which provides business tenants with an easy access to one of our distinguished feedstocks.”
