NorthAmOil: White House rejects GOP proposal to tie Ukraine aid to reversal of LNG pause

Officials in the Biden administration have shot down the possibility of a deal linking aid for Ukraine with reversing the pause on new US LNG export approvals, Bloomberg reported on April 3.

White House officials snubbed a possible deal linking the two issues, just a few hours after reports had emerged that the Biden Administration would consider ending the pause of new project approvals for LNG exports but needed to see the full proposal first before making a decision.

In a statement released hours after the reports surfaced that President Biden could potentially walk back the LNG pause in return for House Speaker Mike Johnson bringing  the Ukraine aid deal to a vote, White House doubled down on the decision in January to temporarily halt LNG export approvals.
